Hello! My name is Ruchi Dinh and I am pursuing a PhD in Media and Communication. Thanks for being here~

I study how humans interact with emerging digital technologies and the impact this has on communication, infrastructure and society. I am particularly interested in data literacy and ethics, well-informed decision-making, the ecological impact of tech, and media representations of new and imagined tech. I employ a mixed methods approach and a constructivist positionality in my research.

Prior to starting my PhD, I worked in SaaS as a project manager for a property technology company based in New York City. I’ve also held other roles in the creative industry, pharma, higher education, ticketing, and film/ tv production in Chicago, London, UK, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I also hold a Bachelor's and Master's in Communication.

In my spare time, you can find me listening to tv shows – yes, you read that right – whipping up something in the kitchen, and figuring out when I'll ever get to crochet again.
